sound blog post

chantell edited the clips all together using capcut. All the clips were put in order then had the existing volume increased as well as added sounds. There is background music in some scenes that fits the thriller opening to the film. As well as scenes where the main boy voices over an otherwise quiet scene. Most of the sound in the film is non-diegetic sound. Voice overs that only the audience knows is going on in a characters head and background music for the audience to set the mood. There is some diegetic sound like dialogue between the 2 main best friends and classroom noises like doors and talking in the back.

finished project feelings

Now that the project is complete i feel good. Issues i had was the scenery with the filming. We had to make quick little changes with the dialogue for my part. I learned how to act while filming. I used the information i learned in class by applying it to the edits the cuts the shots while filming.

Filming blog post

Image
Our first day of filming went pretty well we got a lot of work out of the way. here are some pictures from the first day-  sound and video went pretty well there wasn’t much background noise we don’t need any reshoots.

Group dynamic

The whole process has been going smoothly and well with our group. Everyone has equally worked on the film. I've personally felt the most challenged by the acting. Im pretty experienced with acting so im trying to apply my skills.

Color use

In our film we tried to keep our setting looking very dull & emotionless but our characters looking lively to focus attention on them. We used a color of a washed out green to provide an eerie feeling at the beginning of our film, then onto a yellowish hue to provide the lifelike feeling. In some of our scenes we took advantage of the whiter lighting to create a sense of purity with our main character & their friend.

Lighting blog post

We used either a white lighting or yellow lighting. We used white lighting to show purity & calmness to our setting/scene. In the scenes weve used the yellow lighting its been to show insanity within our antagonist. We have yet to edit the lighting in our film but i think we will not touch it.

Title sequence

The title of our film is "Mine" its a red slanted kind of text in scary letters. we came to pick this title because we felt it fit our film the best. This was our first and best choice we didn't come to think of any other titles.

representation post

our characters are in a very diverse environment, where everyone is different regardless of their looks and stereotypes. We are not challenging stereotypes as everyone is unique. I think the main part is that we need to make edits to our costuming because the filming location there is many other people in the background without uniform.

challenges in filming

Challenges we had in filming were the location but we solved this by brainstorming and carefully choosing where to film. Another challenge we had was time, we did not have much time to film but we compromised by planning what we were going to do in how much time.

supporting character analysis

Our supporting character is katelyn is the friend of the main love interest. She has curly hair and light green eyes, her outfit is loose fitting showing her carelessness and lack of interest in school. She's very quiet but energetic when close to her, she speaks freely with no care of what others think. She's a really dedicated friend
